Control Panels USA is a proven and capable installer of Radio Telemetry Units (RTU). RTU’s have always been the preferred method of municipalities to communicate with remote and isolated utility stations. The most typical applications include water storage tanks, water booster pump stations and wastewater lift stations. The control panels commonly house a small programmable logic controller (PLC), a wireless radio with battery backup, necessary power circuit protection and antenna configuration.

Radio Path Study
CP USA can provide preliminary radio communication feasibility studies for proposed sites. The radio path studies include the following documents and tasks:

• Geographical layout and profile reports of proposed radio path
• Temporary field radio and PLC installations for evaluations of spread spectrum, non-licensed installations
• Review of existing licenses and renewal procedures
• Final radio site evaluation and feasibility report

RTU Control Panels
CP USA’s RTU control panels are designed with ease of installation and operation in mind. Our RTU’s have the following minimum specifications:

• NEMA 3R, 4 or 4X rated enclosures
• Selection of major brand PLC’s
• Microwave Digital Systems (MDS), Freewave, or Datalink radios, among other
• Testing and diagnostic hardware for communication confirmation
• UL508A Listing of all panel assemblies
• Complete control schematics
• Complete submittal documentations

Radio and Components
CP USA recognizes the importance of robust and proven hardware while balancing between capital expense and quality components. The following manufacturers are preferred vendors but customer preferences and satisfaction
is priority.
